Cultural Program

«Please, do not shut down Paradise»

Participating teachers: 1) Maria Daikidou, Philologist, coordinator and writer of the play, 2) Persefoni Liapi, Theologian, 3) Argiro Toupala, German Literature.

In the framework of cultural activities, our school's theatrical team (17 boys, 17 girls), under the guidance of Mrs. Maria Daikidou and Mrs. Persefoni Liapi, who was the director of the play, presented the performance «Please, do not shut down Paradise», on the stage of the 2nd Junior High School of Oreokastro, at May 13 2008.

Environmental Education Program

«Seeking my home»

Participating teachers: 1) Georgios Arvanitidis, Agriculturist, coordinator, 2) Anna Michailidou, Computer Science, 3) Konstandina Vlachou, Art teacher, 4) Mirsini Karvounari, Home Economics.

Classroom Work:

Under the above programs, a visit to Peloponnesus was organized from 17 to 20 of April 2008.

The visit included:

Arrival in Delphi and a guided tour to the museum.

A tour to Ancient Olympia.

Arrival in Kalavrita and a visit the Lavra Monastery.

Arrival in Tolo (Nafplio).

A guided tour to the ancient theater of Epidaurus.

A tour to the town of Nafplio.

A tour to the archeological site of Mykines.

Cultural Program

«Holy Monastery of Great Lavra -
Following the path of Byzantine Tradition»

Participating teachers:  1) Efstratios Chatziathanasiou, Theologian, coordinator, 2) Konstandinos Papadakis, Physicist.

In the framework of the above Cultural Program, a three day visit was organized in the Holy Monastery of Great Lavra from 10 to 12 of April 2008.

The visit included:

Departure from Ierissos.

Arrival in the Holy Monastery of Great Lavra and a tour to the Monastery's treasures museum.

Visit the hermitage of Saint Andrea in Karies (the capital of Mount Athos).

Visit the Protato of Mount Athos and Athoniada School.

Meet monk Gabliel who discussed with the students the matter of Byzantine tradition of Mount Athos.
