On Saturday, March 18, 2023, the 1st Junior High School of Oraiokastro organized a workshop on:
“Students develop concerns
and address questions to politicians”

The Vice-President of the European Commission, Mr. Margaritis Schinas,
the Member of Parliament for B’ Thessaloniki, Mr. Dimitris Vartzopoulos,
The Member of Parliament for B’ Thessaloniki, Mr. Giorgos Arvanitidis,
the Member of Parliament for A’ Thessaloniki, Mr. Konstantinos Gioulekas,
the Mayor of Oraiokastro, Mr. Pantelis Tsakiris,
the Mayor of Kordelio-Evosmos, Mr. Kleanthis Mandalianos,
the Deputy Mayor of Cleaning and Recycling of Kordelio-Evosmos, Mr. Christos Demertzis,
the Deputy Mayor of Sports and Youth Kordelio-Evosmou, Mrs. Maria Gavala,
the Municipal Councilor of Oraiokastro responsible for town twinnings, Mr Nikolaos Saramourtsis,
the Councilor of the Municipal Community of Neapolis, Mrs. Ioanna Zafiriou,
the President of the School Committee of the Municipality of Oraiokastro, Mr. Anastasios Chalkidis
The Director of Secondary Education of Western Thessaloniki, Mr. Christos Roumbidis, was invited and represented the educational community.
The Vice-President of the European Commission, Mr Margaritis Schinas, and all the politicians gladly accepted the invitation to participate in the workshop with the students of the three participating countries.
Our guests
Our volunteer students contributed to the event. The members of the Board of Directors of the Parents’ Association as well as other parents, helped in the decoration and preparation of the dishes offered.

The beginning has been made! The future will be even better!
In May 2023, students and teachers of our school visited the German school Geschwister-Scholl-Gesamtschule from the city of Detmold and participated in several activities.
The exchange of experiences continued in June 2023 with a visit to the French school LΥcée du Pays de Saint Omer from the city of Saint Omer.
Visit to the cathedral, Sandelin museum, meeting with the Mayor of Saint Omer, city tour and attending the Victor Hugo Jaaz Festival at the local Saint Omer festival.
Traditional boat building lessons (bacôve traditionnel) and boating on the canals!
Our students work with German and French students in the last workshop of the project Between Crisis and high Spirits! They share experiences and feelings.
